Camp Seawood
Portsmouth, NH

Camp Seawood is located on 38 acres of forest and wetlands. Ranger's Roost is a winterized two-story building which can accommodate 16 and is heated with an oil furnace. There are seven units, each with a screened Adirondack shelter, picnic table and two fire pits. The units are serviced by latrines, a central fire circle with bleacher seating and a pavilion. One unit, Sandpiper, is handicapped accessible.

Facilities

Winterized Lodges:
There are two lodges: Thaxter and Ranger’s Roost. Thaxter Lodge has bunk beds (for sleeping up to 16 total), a kitchen with electric stove and refrigerator, and year-round running water. The building is heated by a propane furnace. Please DO NOT USE the fireplace or wood cook-stove.

Ranger’s Roost sleeps up to 16 total on mattresses in the upstairs carpeted sleeping loft. There is a full kitchen, tables and chairs, TV/VCR, showers and flush toilets. The bathroom in Ranger’s Roost is also used by those staying in Thaxter Lodge.

Camping facilities:
7 units, each with a large screened Adirondack shelter, picnic tables, and fire pits. Shelters sleep up to 10-12 Girl Scout Brownies or 5-10 older girls. There are central pit latrines. Drinking water is available May 1 - October 31. There is space in each unit area for you to pitch any tents you may wish to bring. A pavilion with electricity may be rented separately. Sandpiper unit is a barrier-free unit and wheelchair accessible.

The site, known today as Strawbery Banke Museum, offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of everyday people who called this area home for nearly four centuries. Isles of Shoals Steamboat Company - scenic boat trips for dinner, educational and party cruises.
