Summer Jobs

Spend the summer making a difference in the life of a girl! Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains has positions available for the summer of 2010 for both Day and Resident Camps in New Hampshire and Vermont.Some camps offer paid staff positions and other seek volunteer staff.

Tto apply, complete an on-line application, download and print and application and reference forms or contact our office to have an application packet mailed to you. At least 2 completed reference forms must be received before your application will be processed. If you would like an application mailed to you, please e-mail your address.

Day Camps

Day Camp positions offer one and two-week sessions and staff needs vary for each camp. Camps which run for two weeks or longer are staffed by paid staff. Daughters of paid staff attend camp for half price. Camps which run for one week only are staffed by volunteers. One daughter of a camp volunteer may attend at no charge; additional children attend for half price. Training is provided and mandatory for all staff. Check out the Day Camp page to see which camp is nearest to you.  The following positions may not be available at all camps:

  • Unit Leader - Supervises unit staff; assists girls and staff in creating and carrying out their program.
  • Unit Assistant - Assists girls in planning and carrying out their program.
  • Waterfront Director - Oversees aquatic program. Must have current Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/PR certification. May also teach swim lessons and supervise assistants in some camps.
  • Waterfront Assistant - Assists waterfront director. Must have current Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/PR certification.
  • Program Consultant - Works with groups of girls in Arts, Science, Sports.
  • Health Director - Administers first aid, ensures health & safety are maintained. Keeps medical records. Must have at least Level II First Aid and CPRPR.

Resident Camp

Resident Camp positions offer an 8-week salary, a week of precamp training, room and board and a great life experience to help change the world, one girl at a time! Precamp training begins mid-June. Staff are expected to attend. Check out the pages for Camp Chenoa and Camp Farnsworth to see which one you may be interested in. We welcome Camp Wapanacki staff to apply at either Chenoa or Farnsworth for the summer of 2010. the following is a brief listing of positions:

  • Unit Leader - Supervise staff, teach and guide campers in planning and carrying out creative program.
  • Unit Assistant - Teach and guide campers in planning and carrying out creative program.
  • Assistant Camp Director - Assis the Camp Director in overseeing staff, units and other administrative camp duties. Must have valid driver's license.
  • Waterfront Director - Current WSI and Lifeguard certification. Teach, train, supervise aquatic staff and coordinate waterfront schedule.
  • Waterfront Assistant - Current WSI or Lifeguard certification. Teach swimming and/or small crafts and lifeguard.
  • Horseback Riding Director - Develop, teach, and supervise English/ Western riding program and care for 22 horses.
  • Riding Assistant/Stable Manager - Teach English/ Western riding and stable management. Care for horses.
  • Program Specialist - Direct or assist in Arts, Ecology, Adventure/Ropes program.
  • Business Manager - Purchase supplies, perform office duties, keep accurate records, provide customer service, and drive field trips. Must be 21 or over with valid driver's license
  • Health Director - Perform first aid and nursing duties, supervise health and safety, maintain health center. Must be RN or LPN and have valid driver's license.
  • Kitchen Assistant - Assist in food preparation and clean-up.
