Sunset Valley Gorham, NH

Sunset Valley is located in the northern portion of the Mount Washington Valley on 30 acres of rolling meadows and forests - a great location to base camp, hike, and ski. 

Facilities

Camp facilities include two winterized lodges, the program center and barn. The program center has three bunkrooms that sleep up to 24 total, an institutional kitchen, meeting area, wood stove, and bathrooms with showers. The barn is adjacent to the program center. It features a sleeping loft with mattresses (for sleeping up to 16 people), kitchen, and meeting area. The barn has one flush toilet and shares the program center’s bathrooms and showers. There also is a field with ten primitive camping sites and a pavilion. Drinking water and flush toilets are available in the field from May 15 -October 1 (dates approximate due to weather conditions).

Program Possibilities

Snowshoes, field games, sports area, environmental activities, field studies, wildlife studies, hiking trails.

Available at the site is a canned program kit - “Trekkin' - A Canned Winter Discovery” that provides leaders with basic tips on the outdoors, fun games, and other educational activities.  Borrow the canned program for day or overnight use, with or without snowshoes.  There is no fee for the kit, but you will need to make arrangements for use through the Camp Caretaker.
