First, you’ll attend this required training weekend which day camp directors use as part of their selection process to ensure that you are ready for the responsibilities of camp. Once we receive your camp registration form, you will receive an application packet which must be completed prior to training in May. Fee $75.00 |
Meet the Director This is Sue "Twinkie" Berry's 4th year at Whispering Pines. She has been a counselor at camp for 4 years, and assistant director for 1 and this is her first year as Director. She is a middle school teacher, Girl Scout volunteer, and a mother. She brings with her Girl Scout values, her creative skills and a strong commitment to keeping Whispering Pines a great camp for girls.
What is your best memory from camp as a camper?
I was not able to be a camper or a girl scout because I could only do 4-H as a child. Maybe that is why I do Girl Scouting so much as an adult!
If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why?
Orange - it is my favorite color and flavor, except chocolate.
Tell us about your favorite thing to do on a rainy day at camp.
Sit and listen to the rain.
What is an outdoor activity that you enjoy doing?
Fire building - need I say more?
Do you have a favorite campfire food?
Just a lightly toasted marshmallow.
What is the reason you come to camp every summer?
It's a blast for me seeing the girls develop their camping and friendship skills.
