The Girl Scout Product Sale Programs teach girls five key business and leadership skills:
1. Goal Setting
Girls set sales goals and, with their team, create a plan to reach them. Girls learn how to set and reach goals to succeed in school, on the job, and in life.
Girls decide where and when to sell, how to market their sale, and what to do with their earnings. Girls must make many decisions, big and small, in their lives.
3. Money Management
Girls develop a budget, take orders, and handle money - from their lunch money to their allowance to their future paycheck.
4. People Skills
Girls learn how to talk and listen to their customers, and learn to work as a team. This helps them do better on group projects, sports teams, and the playground.
5. Business Ethics
Girls act honestly and responsnibly during every step of the Product Sale. Employers hire ethical employees - and the world needs ethical leaders.

Product Sales - Where Does the Money Go?
All of the proceeds—every penny—from a local council's cookie activities remains in the area where the cookies are sold. This revenue is used to benefit girls, some of it directly by remaining in the Girl Scout troop/group treasury and some of it indirectly by subsidizing the cost of providing the Girl Scout program within the council.
