Cookie Sale Program - Safety
SAFETY, FIRST…
- Remember to follow all Safety-Wise Standards and Procedures.
- Do not collect money until cookies are delivered to customers.
- Girl Scouts may not sell cookies using the Internet, websites, chat rooms, or broadcast e-mails to solicit sales. However, they may send a personal e-mail to someone such as a grandparent or friend to let them know they are taking orders. Selling in Your Neighborhood
- Do not enter the home of a customer.
- Girls should wear their Girl Scout uniform, membership pin, sash, vest, or Girl Scout shirt.
- Girls should be familiar with the neighborhoods where they sell.
- Sell door-to-door only during daylight hours.
- Girl Scout Daisies must be accompanied by an adult at all times while participating.
- Girls must always sell with a buddy.
- Girls should NEVER approach customers in cars.
- Girls should make plans to safeguard the money they collect, and should not carry around large amounts of cash and checks.
- Girls should not take cookie money to school to turn in later that day at their Girl Scout meeting.
Booth Sales
- Adults must be present at all times when Girl Scouts conduct a booth sale.
- Girls should never give out their names, addresses or telephone numbers to customers.
- All Safety-Wise standards and procedures apply (Day Trip away from the meeting place).
