Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains requests that your family consider supporting our 2011 L.E.A.D. Membership Fund benefitting girls and troops in New Hampshire and Vermont. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains has launched the L.E.A.D. Membership Fund to bolster girl assistance and campership. This fund supports girls and troops that need financial assistance in order to fully participate in Girl Scouting. Our goal is to ensure that every girl, no matter her financial situation, has the opportunity, the tools, and the access she needs to reach her fullest potential.

We are asking all of our families to consider donating to the L.E.A.D. Membership Fund. Your contribution will help girls Council wide. The average gift is $25.00, but gifts at any level are greatly appreciated.

Your donation could...

Grant financial assistance for girls to participate in special events and series

Provide start-up troop funds

Send a girl to day camp

Help cover the cost of girl travel opportunities

Upgrade technology for virtual Girl Scouting

Vision of Girl Scouting in NH and VT:

Guided by our mission, Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains has innovative programming that helps girls discover, connect, and take action as they develop strong values, a social conscience, and a deep sense of self and their potential. The L.E.A.D. Membership Fund gives foundations, companies, and individuals the opportunity to help provide girls with a safe place to discover their voice, form friendships, and start developing the leadership skills they will need as they grow.

Why Girl Scouting?

As a society, we lose something every time a girl does not raise her hand in school. We are poorer every time she does not say what is on her mind. Our future is a little bit smaller every time a girl chooses not to lead. The Girl Scout experience gives young women the confidence and tools to lead—to find, inside the uncertain girl, the citizen who will make a difference in her world.

Girls in Need:

  • Troops in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire discovered an underprivileged family with three girls that wanted to become Girl Scouts. They paid their membership fee and purchased their uniform basics.
  • A Brownie Troop Leader in Burlington, Vermont has been purchasing troop supplies using personal funds. Girls in her troop go to school where 90% of the children are part of the federal free lunch program.
  • Troops at an elementary school in Manchester, New Hampshire receive funding through teachers and principals, but still do not have the funding even for uniform basics. The girls have given back to the school by planting flowers and starting a recycling program.

Then, Now, and Always:

Since 1912 Girl Scouts has been dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Our alumnae are living proof of the impact of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. For 100 years Girl Scouting has created the opportunity for each girl to be the leader that she wants to be, and that society needs her to be.
