Girl Scout Bridging AwardsBridging awards mark a girl’s transition from one program grade level to the next. An exciting time in a Girl Scout’s life, the earning of the award and completion of the activities are designed to emphasize the continuity of one Girl Scout program and to welcome girls to an anticipated “next level.” Girl Scouts of the USA is aligning all bridging awards with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, beginning with the Ambassador level. Other grade-level requirements for bridging will be available for the 2009-2010 year. Bridge to Girl Scout Ambassador AwardThe Bridge to Girl Scout Ambassador Award, introduced here for the first time and developed with the help of the Girl Scouts of Northern California, is designed for Senior Girl Scouts becoming Girl Scout Ambassadors, the highest level in Girl Scouts. The Bridge to Girl Scout Ambassador Award Patch will be available for purchase in May 2009 and, as official insignia, gets placed on the sash or vest below the membership stars and above other bridging award patches. This new award reflects the leadership keys of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. As girls complete the steps to earn the award, they are experiencing benefits of national outcomes. Girls view the “Earning the Bridge to Girl Scout Ambassador Award” for the steps to earn this award. Adults can use “National Leadership Outcomes – Bridge to Girl Scout Ambassador Award” to note the progress girls are making. Bridge to Senior Girl Scouts Award
