Girl Scouts Forever Green (GSFG) helps Girl Scouts everywhere to track our environmental impact. This project honors our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, who loved nature and the outdoors. Designed by girls, volunteers, alumnae, staff, and collaborators for our 100th Anniversary, GSFG pairs with the It's Your Planet—Love It! Leadership Journeys, to engage girls to activate their communities in a global effort to protect our planet.
Each month, from October 2013 to September 2014, there will be a new opportunity to discover, connect, and TAKE ACTION to soften our impact on the planet. Kick off the GSFG party with a fun webinar on October 17th, 2013. You’ll learn the topics for each month, and decide how you want to participate. Pick and choose the months you like best, and participate with your friends, your troop, or your family! Mix and match- it’s up to YOU to decide.
GSGWM has worked hard to make the Girl Scouts Forever Green program uniquely flexible: try out the different pathways, use our activities or design your own, and join at any time (and any age)! At the end of the year, tell us what you’ve done and you’ll receive a cool patch with a leaf for every activity you’ve completed— even the activities you finished on your own!
So lead your family, your school, or your community to carry out any of the three Take Action projects: Reduce Waste, Save Energy, and Rain Gardens. Email Melissa Mason to record your project results and take a pledge today to make the world a greener place. Your actions matter!
