Girl Scouts Forever Green (GSFG), Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary Take Action Project, is a national effort of girls leading their families, schools, and communities in improving the environment andprotecting natural resources.

4th grade Junior Troop is on a mission to challenge you to use a cloth bag for 2 weeks and to donate 10 canned goods to your local food bank. Check out this great video they created!

Earth Hour: Join Girl Scouts, their families, friends, and community affiliates as they replace incandescent bulbs with ENERGY STAR qualified or other energy-efficient, light bulbs. And don't forget to participate in Earth Hour by turning lights off from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on the last Saturday of March. (In 2012, it's March 31.)

GOAL: To encourage sustainable behavior change, lower CO footprints, and save energy and money WHEN: The month of March

HOW: Participants will install ENERGY STAR qualified, or other energy-efficient light bulbs, and participate in Earth Hour

Reduce Plastic Waste: Girl Scouts around the world are learning about the effects of plastic waste on our environment, and ways to help reduce plastic waste.

GOAL: To reduce the number of discarded single-use plastic bottles and bags

WHEN: February, March, or April—check with your local council HOW: Use reusable water bottles and bags

Hold your own cell phone drive: Secure the Call converts donated phones to 911 emergency phones for the elderly and victims of domestic violence, and redistributes them through locally based organizations in nearly every state. Click here with details on how to participate.
