Very important Finance requirement
Every year a Troop/Group & Community Bank Account Information Form is to be submitted by October 31st
This form is on our website – under the heading Volunteer/Forms/Money
Please note there have been some changes:
- A blank check with the word VOID written across it is to be attached to the form
- The forms are to be submitted to your Community Accounting Coordinator
- If your Community does not have a Community Accounting Coordinator mail the form to Council (address at bottom of form)
With the implementation of “ACH” (Automatic Clearing House) it is imperative to receive all of these forms from all of the troops– whether or not you are participating in the Product Sales Program.
What is”ACH” in simple terms –
- Council will electronically withdraw what is owed to Council from your troops bank account
- How will I know when this is going to happen? Specific date(s) will be provided in advance
- Stay tuned - Council will communicate the details in the near future
On June 29th the GSGWM Board of Directors met and approved new Volunteer Policies and Procedures. Please take a moment to review these policies if you have not yet done so. Volunteer Policies and Procedures (updated 7/11/11)
New Volunteer Structure
The current service team structure will be replaced with a new structure at the end of this membership year. New community and district-level teams are now being created. If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please contact Stacy Sousa.

UPDATED 2012 Certificate of Insurance
When would a troop need one? A Certificate of Insurance would be requested if a troop meets at the same location on a regular basis or is having an event at a public place. Upon agreement of event you could be asked by the facility for a certificate of insurance. This is an insurance binder from the Girl Scouts insurance company which states that we are insured in the event there is an accident at their facility.
For your convenience the Certificate of Insurance is on our website. If the recipient will not accept the certificate that is on our website - (because you have to write in the facility name and address), you may request a certificate by email to Wayne Cofrin/Finance Department at wcofrin@girlscoutsgwm.org.
To generate the Certificate the following information is required:
- Name of place
- address
- attn to
- fax #
- email (if possible)
For current troop meeting places i.e. school, church etc the certificate of insurance is valid until December 2012.
