Astronomy Series Information Session
Registration Closes at 11:59 PM ET on October 01, 2017
What is astronomy? It is one of the oldest sciences and is the study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, and galaxies) and phenomena that takes place outside of the Earth’s atmosphere. As a member of the Astronomy Series, you have access to educational materials and opportunities to experience astronomy first-hand. You will be able to access a secure website (maintained by GSGWM staff) where you will find educational materials (many developed by NASA) and an event calendar of various astronomy events and workshops around the council. New educational content and events will be posted periodically, so make sure to check the website often! You will also have access to a group of volunteers, including professional and amateur astronomers, who will help you learn about and enjoy astronomy.
