Maple Sugar Magic
Registration Closes at 11:59 PM ET on March 03, 2019
Maple Sugaring is quite a magical process. Learn how trees make their own food in the form of sugar and how sugar maples store this sugar over the winter. Learn to identify trees in winter, measure them for suitable size and use tools to set a tap. Participants will collect sap to pour into wood fired evaporator and see how watery sap is converted to syrup. Taste the real stuff and compare to imitation maple syrup. This process was created perhaps thousands of years ago by the Native Americans of the woodlands. It’s unique to northeastern North America. Get a good start on your journey or badges.
