Native Americans of the Woodlands
Registration Closes at 11:59 PM ET on October 20, 2019
Hike to and gather within an ash bark wigwam near a stream. Learn how these round dwellings were made and how the people who lived in New England forests understood every plant and animal. How was the forest able to provide food, shelter, clothing, medicine and tools to the Native Americans? Each of us can learn a great deal by studying their bank of knowledge. Students will play games and share stories that originated with Native American children. We will enjoy a snack related to native foods of New England.
