Special Girl Scout outfits available for unique troop mascots

BEDFORD, NH – Imagine the joy a Girl Scout will feel as she cuddles a teddy that reflects her personality and troop colors! Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the council serving girls across New Hampshire and Vermont, can now offer the Build-A-Bear Workshop® product and experience in its Bedford location.

At Build-A-Bear Workshop®, kids — and kids at heart — engage in a hands-on entertaining process to create their very own, personalized furry friends. The experience begins by choosing from a wide array of plush animals and then stuffing them with love, including participating in Build-A-Bear’s iconic Heart Ceremony.

This special Build-A-Bear Workshop, which is run and supported by the council, will feature Girl Scout branded accessories, including uniforms that can be customized to each Girl Scout’s troop number. The Heart Ceremony is tailored to each person or troop and may even include the Girl Scout Law or their special interests. A wide range of clothing and accessories allows each new friend to be customized and unique. The process completes when guests fill out a birth certificate and then take the new furry friend home in a signature Cub Condo™ carrying case. The personal nature of the interactive experience often fosters a lasting and emotional brand connection.

The grand opening of the Build-A-Bear experience at the Girl Scouts’ Bedford office at 1 Commerce Drive will take place Saturday, Feb. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be raffles and giveaways, as well as a chance for shoppers to explore the newly expanded Mountain Top Shop for other Girl Scout-related items. The entire Build-A-Bear Workshop will travel to the council’s Williston, Vermont, office on April 1.

“We look forward to our partnership with Build-A-Bear,” said Patricia K. Mellor, CEO of the Girl Scout council. “We’re proud to bring one of the most iconic interactive brands, Build-A-Bear, to our location with its Girl Scout twist.”

Girl Scouts who have earned program credits through cookie sales can put those credits to use designing their special Girl Scout mascot, but everyone is invited to shop at the Build-A-Bear Workshop and make a Girl Scout memory to take home with them.

While the workshop will be based at the Bedford office, the council plans to take Build-A-Bear on the road to camp and other special events.
