Swift Water Paddlers is a short-term Girl Scout opportunity
BEDFORD, NH – Girls in grades 6-12 who love canoeing are invited to join the Swift Water Paddlers competitive canoe team. The team begins practice in March to prepare for competitions in May at the Great Smith River Regatta in New Hampshire and the General Clinton Regatta in New York.
Join our championship canoe-racing team - no canoe experience necessary! Learn the basics, try a competition; explore sprints, relay teams, white water, and in-water canoe switches; and build lifetime friendships! You can also choose to lead a booth activity at Girl Expo and lead a workshop at the Outdoor Adventure Weekend in September. Practices take place at Camp Kettleford in Bedford.
You don’t have to be a Girl Scout to join the team, but will become a member of Girl Scouts for this amazing experience. To find out more, see https://bit.ly/SWPaddlers. To register, contact Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org or call 888-474-9686 and say you want to join the Swift Water Paddlers team.
We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains serves girls throughout New Hampshire and Vermont through volunteer-run troops, events, and virtual programs. Visit www.girlscoutsgwm.org to learn more.
