America’s favorite pastime is a natural partnership for Girl Scouts and their families
BURLINGTON, VT – Girl Scouts and their families love to spend a day at the ballpark, especially when it includes a chance to enjoy a fully catered barbecue dinner, photos with the team, and a special Girl Scout patch. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the council serving girls across Vermont and New Hampshire, is grateful to the Vermont Lake Monsters for being a partner in its offerings to Girl Scouts.
Girl Scouts have been able to attend Lake Monsters games as a group since at least 2019 with their friends and families. On Saturday, June 21, those attending the Lake Monsters game should see a good number of Girl Scouts in the stands, cheering the team.
“It’s been great working with Nick DiLello for the past few years,” said Paula Kelley-Murphy, the coordinator for program partnerships for the Girl Scout council. “They also provide a custom Girl Scout patch each year as well as letting us have a recruitment table at the park.”
“It's always great to have youth groups like the Girl Scouts join us for a game at Centennial Field,” said DiLello. “Their enthusiasm and support for the Lake Monsters bring such positive energy to the ballpark—from cheering on the team to interacting with our beloved mascot, Champ. It’s always a joy to see them having fun, building friendships, and creating lasting memories together at the game.
DiLello said it means a lot to be able to work with groups like the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains and welcome them to the ballpark year after year.
“It’s a joy to see young Lake Monsters fans light up when they meet our mascot, Champ, enjoy the atmosphere at Centennial Field, or take in one of our post-game fireworks shows,” he said. “Those moments are what make this partnership so special.”
Last year, 99 Girl Scouts attended a Lake Monsters game through the partnership with Girl Scouts, with over 100 more in the previous two years.
Girl Scouts look forward to continuing this special relationship with the Vermont Lake Monsters, allowing Girl Scouts and their families to experience the thrill of watching up-and-coming athletes play in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League at Centennial Field.
Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains is proud to partner with the Vermont Lake Monsters and appreciates their support of Girl Scouting.
We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
