Girl Scouts to Benefit from Winnipesaukee Wine Festival

Winni Wine Festival 2017web

Fundraiser June 28 to be hosted by The Common Man Family of Restaurants and The Martignetti Companies of New Hampshire

To benefit leadership development programs for girls, Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains (GSGWM) is joining with The Common Man Family of Restaurants and The Martignetti Companies of New Hampshire for the 13th annual Winnipesaukee Wine Festival in Meredith, N.H., on June 28.

Participants in the charitable event will be contributing to the girl-focused and girl-led programs that make the Girl Scouts the world’s premiere leadership development organization for girls. GSGWM serves more than 10,000 girls throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.

Girl Scout representatives will be on hand at the event to welcome guests, network, and talk about their opportunities as G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders)™, along with the benefits of Girl Scouting and the positive impact they have as future leaders and advocates for change.

Girl Scouts throughout New Hampshire and Vermont participate in troop settings, learn new outdoor skills at day and resident camps, explore their interests in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), enact far-reaching changes through Civic Engagement, and take action to make positive and sustainable changes through community and council-wide events. More than 4,600 GSGWM volunteers give generously of their time and talent to ensure girls have the mentors and experiences that foster their imagination, their confidence, and their leadership. GSGWM recruits, trains and supports those volunteers, providing the resources they need to become leaders themselves.

The festival takes place Thursday, June 28, from 5:30-8 p.m. in the Winnipesaukee Ballroom at Church Landing on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith. The event is sponsored by Meredith Village Savings Bank, with promotional support from Minuteman Press in Plymouth.
