Celebrate Girl Scout Week March 10-16, 2019

Bedford, NH | It’s Girl Scout Week! Celebrate this special time of year by sharing with others what it means to be a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™. Take a moment to acknowledge the importance of being a Girl Scout and the positive impact this has on you, your community, your friends, your family, and the world! Express the power of girls by participating in Girl Scout ceremonies, sharing our history, and learning more about Girl Scouts Birthday and Juliette Gordon Low. Recognize the value of our traditions by reviewing and talking about the significance of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Girl Scout Sunday is March 10 and Girl Scout Sabbath is March 16. On those days, we emphasize that we take the Girl Scout Promise seriously by reflecting upon the importance of faith. Celebrate by taking the time to connect with your beliefs and values, and learn about someone else’s. Host a Girl Scout Cookie party and talk about the skills you learned, or earn your My Promise, My Faith Award.

We celebrate 107 years in Girl Scouting on Girl Scouts Birthday March 12, the day when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the first 18 Girl Scout members in Savannah, Georgia, in 1912. Girl Scouts, the best leadership experience for girls in the world, brings more than a century of experience helping girls unleash their powerful influence through our 2.6 million girl and adult members worldwide. Unlock your potential, show your leadership skills, raise your hand, stand up against bullying and help those in need, tackle your fears and take risks by trying something new.

Throughout the week unleash you inner G.I.R.L. by exploring the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with hands-on activities in robotics, botany, coding, and chemistry. Discover the outdoors - perfect your skills in archery, ice fishing, snowshoeing, or scaling a rock cliff.

Bring out your best as you learn new skills, take the lead in everything you do, and find your inner passion. Learn to challenge yourself and take risks, stand up for what’s right, and change the world for the better.

Connect with one another and celebrate your Girl Scout experiences and opportunities this week and all throughout the year. Most of all, have fun! Come up with meaningful activities on your own or check out these ideas to get you started.
