Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains hosts event Oct. 19 in Bedford
BEDFORD, NH – What Girl Scout Cookie creation will win the competition? Who will make it to the top of the rock wall? And could there really be a life-size whale indoors?
Find out at G.I.R.L. Expo New Hampshire, hosted by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford on Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expo is open to the public and includes performances, hands-on exhibits, free workshops, giveaways, and more.
This year's expo offers G.I.R.L.s (Go-Getters, Innovators, Risk-Takers, Leaders)™ ages 5 to 18 and their families plenty of opportunities to explore their interests in the outdoors, STEM, the arts, healthy living, and life skills through interactive activities for girls and their families.
Explore the inside of a 65-foot inflatable whale, climb the 24-foot rock wall, shoot an arrow, ride a mountain bike, take the tent set-up challenge! With more than 100 activities and workshops, you’ll want to get there early and stay all day.
This year’s expo features performances by the Miss New Hampshire Talent Show, ice cream science with Subzero Ice Cream, the McGonagle School of Irish Dance, the Golden Girls tap dancers, Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater ballet, Let’s Play Music and pop singer Kristina Lachaga.
The STEM Zone is bigger than ever, with hands-on activities and workshops with FIRST robotics, rocketry with Xploration, an augmented reality watershed table, green-screen photo booth, and SubZero’s liquid nitrogen-made ice cream. Connect with local businesses and organizations and learn more about programs and services in their communities.
The Top Pastry Chef Competition is an exciting contest to see which team of girls can create the most delicious and innovative dessert using Girl Scout Cookies. The audience is encouraged to cheer the teams as they come up with their masterpiece.
Girl Scouting will be well represented, too! Find out more about all the different ways to have fun at Girl Scouts, where girls choose their own adventures, and become young women of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
