Clothing drive will help fund Girl Scout troop activities
SOMERSWORTH, NH – The Girl Scouts of Troop 10904 in Somersworth are determined to fund an educational trip for their 8th grade graduation and make the world a better place at the same time. These go-getters collected almost 3,000 pounds of clothing over the past year, filling two storage units. They braved snowy weather to bring their collection to Savers in Newington, a nonprofit organization that purchases used items that are resold to benefit their nonprofit partners, such as the Epilepsy Foundation, Easter Seals, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Girl Scouting’s mission is to help girls develop into young women of courage, character, and confidence, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains offers in-person and virtual programming to girls across New Hampshire and Vermont, allowing girls access to STEM, outdoor, business, and life skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
