Girl Scout troop in Goffstown is learning new skills and making friends

GOFFSTOWN, NH – Girl Scout Troop 62994 has been very busy since forming in January, learning life skills that will serve them well as they grow up. The troop includes 13 Daisies and Brownies in grades K-2 in Goffstown.

Troop Leader Emily Ferguson said they jumped right into the Girl Scout Cookie program, which also kicked off in January.

“We are so proud of the girls,” she said. “They worked really hard selling cookies. We had six cookie booths and as a troop sold 4,430 boxes with over 200 donation boxes. Our top seller had 600+ boxes and multiple girls with 500+ boxes sold. The girls decided to use some of their cookie money to give back to the community by making donation baskets for the local food pantry and we are planning a fun end-of-year field trip.”

Ferguson said she and co-leaders Stephanie Rush and Melissa Marchant have given their all to make the troop a success. The Girl Scouts meet weekly at the Masonic Lodge, and has members in Goffstown, New Boston, Manchester, and Dunbarton.

Girls are welcome to join Girl Scouts any time of the year. Participate by joining an existing troop, forming a new troop, or even as an individual member. Find out more at www.girlscoutsgwm.org.
