Girl Scout troop in Rutland is learning new skills and making friends

RUTLAND, VT – Girl Scout Troop 62365 has been very busy since forming recently, learning life skills that will serve them well as they grow up. The troop includes 10 Daisies and Brownies in grades K-2 in Rutland.

Troop Leader Marisa Valent said the girl started by learning the Girl Scout Promise and played games to get to know each other. In January, they began earning badges and embarked on their first experience as entrepreneurs with the Girl Scout Cookie program.

“Together, our girls sold almost 2,000 cookies this season,” said Valent. “They did an incredible job! Our Daisies are working on earning their petals and our Brownies are working on earning badges for things like World Thinking Day. We hope to go camping with the proceeds from cookies!”

Girls are welcome to join Girl Scouts any time of the year. Participate by joining an existing troop, forming a new troop, or even as an individual member. Find out more at www.girlscoutsgwm.org.

Girl Scouts is here for them through it all. Cheering them on, lifting them up, celebrating their strengths. Today, tomorrow, together—we’re on their team.

We Are Girl Scouts
