Troop Spotlight: December 2025
Girl Scouts around our council are always active – camping, traveling, doing service projects, and making the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites all Girl Scouts in our council to share photos of their adventures, achievements, projects, and more. Send your photos to us at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org. Be sure to include a description of the event, your troop number and levels involved, when it took place, and any other relevant information.
Leading the parade

Pemibaker Girl Scouts 224 participated in the Plymouth, NH, Holiday Parade on December 13. Their entry was “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” and they dressed as snow angels and winter animals and made snowflakes to decorate their trailer and to carry. For their community service project, they are collecting mittens, gloves, hats, and socks to donate to our schools to help make sure kids can participate in their outdoor winter programming.
Just before the troop stepped off, their two flag bearers were asked by the organizer to be first in the parade as the group that was supposed to carry the flags did not show. Those two girls were so excited and proud to represent the Girl Scouts leading the parade.
Space scientists

Troop 62216, Nottingham, NH, enjoyed a great visit from the STEM on-the-go van in November. It was their third visit over the last three years and the girls always love the activities and the chance for a new visitor to their meeting. They chose the Space Science program and it was out of this world!
Night owls

From Troop 58854 in Essex Junction, VT: Whoooo will we find out enjoying the night? The Essex Vermont Troop 58854 Cadettes working on their Night Owl badge, that’s who! We asked the adult caregivers in our troop if they had experience with jobs at night and would consider being interviewed. We worked together to prepare our questions about careers at night and what we wanted to learn. Tasks we completed were organizing our questions, taking turns asking questions and typing out the responses. There are some fascinating things to know about night jobs! Think about sleeping during the day, balancing time with family and friends, safety, and some of the monetary incentives for taking shifts in the evening or at night, such as when working in a hospital. The Cadettes enjoyed learning about what it is like to be a woman in the Coast Guard and to work in Emergency Management as a career field. The Cadettes shout out to the women Night Owls working at night!
Paying respect

Nashua, NH, Troop 51605 assisted the Hudson Fire Department in retiring their American flag. They then placed wreaths at the cemetery behind Alvirne Chapel in Hudson. They were asked by the commander to come to help collect the wreaths and remove the ribbons in January as well. Leader Ally said “Our troop has always taken pride in helping others but this year the girls recognized the increasing need to be present, making connections and meaningful impacts within their community. As troop leaders we could not be more proud of our entire troop.”
Robotics badge blast

Girl Scouts participated in a Robotics Badge Blast Nov. 13 at Merrimack High School in NH, hosted by FIRST robotics team Chop Shop Team 166. They assembled and programmed LEGO Spike robots and tested them on a path created in tape on the floor. The day finished with a demonstration of the large robot the high school team used in FIRST competition.
Girl Scout Hazel of Troop 63806 in Contoocook/Hopkinton traveled from Salisbury to participate along with her sister and mother. Hazel said “I joined a computer science group at my school that has been teaching me about coding and they’ve taught me all sorts of things about how the older kids will be able to code robots! I always thought that was the coolest thing to code something not only on screen but in physical life. I think it would be really cool to code for a career.”
Honor and respect

Troop 30228 of Waterbury, VT, laid wreaths at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph in honor of the veterans buried there. Shown are Girl Scouts Arianna and Aubrey.
Making spirits bright

Merrimack, NH, Troop 64322 brought some holiday joy to residents at Benchmark Senior Living at Nashua Crossings by helping them make ornaments.
