Troop Spotlight: July 2025
Girl Scouts around our council are always active – camping, traveling, doing service projects, and making the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites all Girl Scouts in our council to share photos of their adventures, achievements, projects, and more. Send your photos to us at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org. Be sure to include a description of the event, your troop number and levels involved, when it took place, and any other relevant information.
Making playground inclusive

Girl Scout Troop 62222 of Merrimack, NH, donated two playground communication banners to local schools using their cookie money. They learned about communication and inclusion this year. They had local teachers show them sign language. They learned from a parent who has a child with autism how the communication system works. They also learned from a high school student who uses a communication device how electronic communication devices work. The girls have a goal of making the community more inclusive for all!
Camping in the Lakes Region

The Waterway Service Unit 243, which encompasses the towns of Laconia, Gilford, Meredith, Moultonborough, Sandwich, Alton, Gilmanton, and Barnstead, enjoyed their Girl Scout Camporee in June. They spent the weekend swimming, playing field games, doing crafts and tie dye, and so much more! Over 40 girls from five troops in the service unit participated!
Car care

Loudon, NH, Troop 60180 had a female mechanic come by to teach the troop about cars. She was an engineering student, a robotics state champion, and also works with Girls at Work. Her passion for all things STEM really excited the girls!
She also helped the troop with their Model Car, Race Car and Balloon Car badges.
The girls will spend the next two weeks building their cars to race at our next meeting at the New England Race Car Museum in Loudon.
Silver Award to save pollinators

Troop 58502 Girl Scouts in Bow, NH, working on their Silver Award project of a pollinator garden, received a generous donation from The Home Depot for lumber needed for raised garden beds. The manager, CC, was very helpful and appears with Zoe Schuetz, Caleigh Epple and Elizabeth Nesbitt
Bugs and bubbles

Brownies of the St. Albans Troop 30456 took a trip to the Montshire Museum to complete their bug badge! It was a great day of hands-on fun and learning.
