Troop Spotlight: September 2025
Girl Scouts around our council are always active – camping, traveling, doing service projects, and making the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites all Girl Scouts in our council to share photos of their adventures, achievements, projects, and more. Send your photos to us at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org. Be sure to include a description of the event, your troop number and levels involved, when it took place, and any other relevant information.
Homemade donuts

At top, Mia, left, is a fourth-grade Junior from St. Albans, VT, who had great success making apple cider donuts at home through our virtual Magical Baking series. At center and right are California Girl Scouts with the muffin version.

One participant wrote: Mrs. B and all of her virtual programs are wonderful! She is so kind to Emma and all of the girls and she does a great job teaching them virtually. The virtual programs are a huge blessing to us because Emma is a Juliette and does not have a local troop that she works with. We would love to have more virtual offerings. Thanks so much and please continue allowing Mrs. B to do the virtual programs; she is wonderful!!!
European adventure

TTroop 20507 of Concord, NH, is all about traveling and this past summer they spent 15 days in Venice, Salzburg, Vienna, and Dubrovnik, with a day trip up Germany and a day trip to Bosnia! It was the final trip for these graduating Ambassador Girl Scouts.

An overnight at Camp Kettleford

It was perfect weather for an overnight at Camp Kettleford for Troop 10633 of Manchester. They even enjoyed a pirate-mermaid cake.
Adventure Weekend

Girl Scouts enjoyed a Friday night campfire, a morning flag ceremony, the stars above Yaryole, gnocchi pasta-making, canoeing, and semaphore fun from the Mission Improbable puzzle set, along with Robot Wars, embroidery, Forestry 101, climbing, and the project of closing up the waterfront at Camp Farnsworth for Adventure Weekend.
Preventing suicide

Junior Girl Scout Ava Fiske of Troop 60180 in Concord, NH, earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award by educating people about suicide prevention and mental health awareness. She created PSAs that ran on the radio in the Lakes Region to let people know they can call 988 for help, participated in a walk for mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and appeared on a radio show to share her information.
Summit Award earned for improving air quality

Cadette Girl Scout Isabel Crandall completed her third Journey by improving the air quality in her mother’s office at the International Justice Mission in Washington, D.C., thereby earning her Summit Award. Isabel researched the type of plants that would help, mapped the office, and earned the funds necessary to buy plants by hosting a bake sale and yard sale as well as receiving a Take Action Mini-Grant from the council. She is a member of Troop 03940 in Williston, VT.
Aviation Day

Girl Scouts and others attended the Girls in Aviation Day at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire at the Manchester Airport. Hands-on STEM activities included use of the flight simulator, a drone obstacle course, and a scavenger hunt on aviation maps. Many Girl Scout troops attended, including Junior Sehanya of Troop 63487 in Derry, NH, and three members of Troop 65830 of Atkinson, NH - Noelle Iani, Cecilie Iani and Savannah Guide. The girls had a blast learning about all things aviation, engineering, and STEM.
It was organized by the Boston Chapter of Women in Aviation International, to encourage young women to develop their interest in the worlds of aviation and aerospace.
Pumpkin Girl Scouts

Tamworth Troop 63730 and Eastern Propane set up Pumpkin People in Conway, NH, dressing them as Girl Scouts! The Pumpkin People project is done through the Jackson, NH, Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club to raise money for local charities in northern Carroll County. Displays are set up in front of business in Jackson, Barlett, Glen, and Conway.
