Troop Spotlight: January 2026
Girl Scouts around our council are always active – camping, traveling, doing service projects, and making the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites all Girl Scouts in our council to share photos of their adventures, achievements, projects, and more. Send your photos to us at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org. Be sure to include a description of the event, your troop number and levels involved, when it took place, and any other relevant information.
Helping foster kids

Troop 60180 of Loudon, NH, has completed their sixth year buying gifts for children in foster care. The troop made and sold Christmas ornaments, cards, and gnomes to purchase items for 16 children in foster care ranging from 3 months to 17 years old.
“This is an important community service project that our troop loves doing!” said troop leader Sheena.
Teddy bears everywhere

Troop 30456 of St. Albans, VT, went on a special tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear factory in Shelburne. Their special glasses made each string of lights teddy bears! It was a fun added flair as they learned about the history of bear making, how they are made, limited editions, and the teddy bear "hospital."
Graffiti cleaners

Calla, Dorothy, Ferrin and Paisley, who are Brownies from Troop 63754, completed their Take Action project. They voted to paint over graffiti in a rail trail tunnel in Enfield and make their community a more peaceful place.
A day on the ice

Service Unit 200 in the Keene, NH, area spent the Martin Luther King Jr./Civil Rights Day holiday with some ice skating. The event was attended by eight troops and their family members. Admission to the event was a nonperishable food item that was donated to the food shelf. Everyone had a great time.
Building community through birdhouses

Troop 65850 of Salem, NH, visited The Residence at Salem Woods for a special birdhouse-building workshop as they worked toward earning their Tinkering badge. Residents and the Girl Scouts teamed up, side by side, for a meaningful evening filled with collaboration, learning, and plenty of smiles, proving that when generations come together something truly special is built, far beyond the birdhouses themselves.
From waste to wonderful

Atkinson Troop 65830 collected 1,000 pounds of plastic bags over the course of the year. Participating in the TREX Recycling Challenge, the troop earned a TREX bench made out of recycled plastic. Way to go girls!
Pizza and bears

Troop 64322 of Merrimack, NH, won a Build-A-Bear Pizza Party with our CEO, Tricia Mellor for registering their entire troop at a certain time. They enjoyed the party on January 24.
