Stephanie Rowell of Barre has been a Girl Scout troop leader for two years
BARRE, VT – Stephanie Rowell of Barre has been named a Volunteer of Excellence by Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the council serving Girl Scouts across Vermont and New Hampshire.
Rowell stepped up to become the leader of Troop 63357 when it appeared close to losing its leadership.
“Stephanie’s imagination and endless determination saw the girls having what had to be one of the best Girl Scout years ever,” said her co-leader, Beth Welton. “Under her leadership, the girls learned, played, and grew together.”
Troop meetings were close to having perfect attendance with Girl Scouts asking if they could add more meetings.
“Stephanie Rowell is an admirable, imaginative leader that inspires girls and adults alike,” said Alessa Bagalio, a volunteer support specialist with the council. “With her strengths to turn things around, she made this year not only good but great.”
Rowell will be relocating soon due to her husband in the military, but her impact on this troop will remain for years to come.
“She has made such an impact on so many people’s lives that she deserves some recognition for her hard work and passionate leadership before she moves,” said Bagalio.
Girl Scouting offers both girls and adults valuable opportunities to volunteer and make the world a better place. To find out more, see www.girlscoutsgwm.org.
We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
