Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors, ages 11-16, are invited to participate in an American Red Cross Babysitter's Training class designed to build confidence, responsibility, and realworld childcare skills. This comprehensive training prepares Girl Scouts to be safe, capable, and successful babysitters while learning how to care for infants, toddlers, and children.

During this interactive, instructorled program, participants will learn core American Red Cross babysitting skills, including basic care for infants and children, ageappropriate activities, feeding and diapering, and safe ways to pick up and care for children. Girl Scouts will also develop skills in child behavior management, basic first aid, and how to respond confidently in emergency situations, helping them deliver the level of care families need and expect. While a CPR /AED certification is not included in this course, participants will learn some basic first aid skills, such as how to handle conscious choking in an infant and child.

Facilitated by a GSGWM team member who is an American Red Cross instructor. Designed as an individual youth participant drop-off activity, although 1 adult chaperone will need to stay to meet ratios. Participants will earn an American Red Cross Babysitter's Training Certification. Cadettes will work toward earning their Babysitter Badge. All supplies and materials are provided. Food is not provided; participants should eat lunch beforehand and bring a snack for scheduled break times. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. This program requires a minimum of 4 youth participants to run.
