Date: Sat Jul 11, 8:00 AM EDT - Sun Jul 12, 11:00 AM EDT
Girl Scouts of all ages step into the wonders of the outdoors as
your troop discovers that the forest, fields, and trails are the
ultimate playground! Throughout the weekend, troops will take part in
hands-on activities inspired by the environment around you. Explore
with guided hikes, wildlife observation, nature scavenger hunts,
outdoor skills, and creative eco-art using natural materials. Make
your own meals between group games, swimming (at Camp Kettleford
only), target sports, and lots of camp fun!
Facilitated by GSGWM
team member(s). Designed for troops, or individuals with an adult
chaperone. Lodging will be in Adirondacks (5-12 people sleeping on the
floor, no mattresses provided) or you can bring your own tents. Each
troop will be assigned an Adirondack based on group size. Snack
provided. Troops are responsible for their own meals and additional
snacks to either eat picnic style or cook over a campfire. This
program requires at least 12 participants to run.
Adults should
also register for this event to meet Safety Activity Checkpoints youth
to adult ratios. All adults attending must comply with all GSGWM's
policies and procedures. At least one adult must have Outdoor
Adventure Workshop (OAW) training (available online, no fee) and Basic
Outdoor Living Skills Trainings.
You will receive a detailed
confirmation including arrival details and a packing list by e-mail
within two weeks before the program date. Troops have the option to
check-in Friday night from 6-7:30 p.m. EDT for a full weekend at camp
or arrive and check-in on Saturday morning from 8-9 a.m. EDT with
programming beginning on Saturday at 9 a.m. EDT.
