Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an evidence-based training program that teaches adults (teachers, parents, coaches) how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth. It focuses on providing initial, non-judgmental support and connecting young people to professional care. This course is valued at $170, and is being offered to Girl Scout volunteers for $25. This course is being offered virtually. You will complete 2 hours of self-guided pre-work, and then attend a live session for approximately 5 - 6 hours. Access to the online portal will be shared after registration. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a nationally recognized certificate from the National Council for Mental Well Being that is valid for 3 years.This course qualifies for the volunteer appreciation promotion.
