Troop Spotlight: March 2025

Girl Scouts around our council are always active – camping, traveling, doing service projects, and making the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains invites all Girl Scouts in our council to share photos of their adventures, achievements, projects, and more. Send your photos to us at customercare@girlscoutsgwm.org. Be sure to include a description of the event, your troop number and levels involved, when it took place, and any other relevant information.
Clay pens
Troop 63487 of Derry, NH, enjoyed the Clay Pens on-demand program presented by the council. A clay pen is a pen that is covered in Sculpey clay. The ink is removed, the pen shell is covered, then baked, and then the ink is reinserted. The leader said “The instructor was very engaging with our troop. All of the girls loved the meeting and some called it their favorite!”
Sledding on cardboard
Troop 30066 of South Burlington, VT, decided to use their empty cookie cases to make cardboard sleds. They tested out their durability and found out they coasted a long distance!

These Girl Scouts identified a need in the community for simple items such as clothing, blankets, and toiletries, and distributed them to students in need right in their own schools. The 16 members of the troop range from second to ninth grade and worked together to collect items to add to the local school closets.

Another great event! You make the recipes so accessible, thank you :) the girls loved it
Great program, Mrs. B. The girls only needed help with the oven (and me doing dishes between the cupcakes and frosting).
Putting cookie proceeds to work
Troop 30066 in North Ferrisburgh, VT, spent an evening making homemade granola and Chex mix to put into some special goodie bags they plan to distribute to the homeless. They used some of their cookie money to buy the bags, have their troop number printed on them and then filled them with a water bottle, a pair of warm socks, a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste, deodorant, a rain poncho, a small packet of tissues, some crackers, granola bars, beef sticks, the homemade granola and Chex mix, and a Burger King gift card.

One new person did join!
Exploring book binding
Troop 58108 also went on a field trip as part of their Book Binding badge activities. They visited the NH Bindery in Bow, NH.
