MANCHESTER, NH – Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains has opened a new Girl Scout Discovery Zone at the Mall of New Hampshire. Everyone is invited to stop at the space across from Old Navy to learn about Girl Scouting and take part in activities girls are sure to love. The mall could be the start of a life-changing experience for girls and their families!

Parents, grandparents, and other caregivers interested in seeing what Girl Scouting is all about are encouraged to bring their girls to the mall to take part in activities like a Monster Mash on Halloween, a robot-building party on Nov. 1, or gingerbread house-making Dec. 5. Activities and even Girl Scout badge-earning opportunities will take place each day the Discovery Zone is open.

Girls are also invited to take part in the Girl Scout Scavenger Hunt in the mall. They can get the list of hunt items at the Discovery Zone, then return the list to receive a patch and be entered into the monthly drawing for a mall gift card of $10. Mall stores such as EMS, Lok’d Room Escape, Claire’s, Dilly Dally’s Candles, Icing, and Tutti Frutti are participating, and some may even offer small gifts to the hunters!

Girl Scout Discovery Zone regular hours will be from 1-4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, with some additional hours for special events. Stop in to learn more or check the schedules of programs you can participate in.

Girl Scout troops are also welcome to have their meetings in the mall location. Many troops have lost their meeting spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic, so the council is thinking outside the box to better serve girls. Troops interested in using the space or those interested in finding out more about Girl Scouts or the Discovery Zone may contact the council at CustomerCare@girlscoutsgwm.org or 888-474-9686.

Girl Scouts provides an accepting and nurturing environment where girls build character and skills for success. In partnership with caring adults, girls develop qualities to serve them all their lives: strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their potential and self-worth. Through hundreds of programs offered each year, girls develop their leadership potential in activities that enable them to discover their values, skills and the world; connect with others in a multicultural environment; and take action to make a difference. This is the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Learn more at www.girlscoutsgwm.org.
