New troop in Mont Vernon is making new friends and ready to learn
MONT VERNON, NH – Girl Scout Troop 62057 has been very active since forming last fall, learning life skills that will serve them well as they grow up. The troop includes Daisies in kindergarten and first grade from Mont Vernon.
Troop Leader Brittany Prescott said the Girl Scouts have learned the Girl Scout Promise and painted a mural on her co-leader’s basement wall of the Daisy Petals. Petals are equivalent to badges at this youngest grade level of Girl Scouting.
At a Christmas party, the Daisies each received a gift bag with a Santa hat, played Pin the Heart on the Grinch, danced with an interactive video related to Girl Scouts, and got their vests and petals that day. Then went outside in the back yard for some fun time on the playground.
“We’re looking forward to doing anything that’s embodying what a Girl Scout is all about,” said Prescott, “which is raising strong, independent, driven, determined girls who put God first, and just want to always do good for others with honest integrity.”
The troop is open to adding one more member, she said. She looks forward to watching the girls grow.
Girls are welcome to join Girl Scouts any time of the year. Participate by joining an existing troop, forming a new troop, or even as an individual member. Find out more at www.girlscoutsgwm.org.

We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains serves girls throughout New Hampshire and Vermont through volunteer-run troops, events, and virtual programs. Visit www.girlscoutsgwm.org to learn more.
