Girl Scouts of all ages and their families, do you love State Parks? Come show that love Niquette Bay State Park on Sept. 20! Join Park Managers Marisa and Carolyn on an interactive hike, exploration of aquatic ecosystems, and fishing opportunity on the shores of Lake Champlain!
You will hike through a beautiful forest to a pebbly beach where Park Managers will discuss the Lake Champlain watershed and the benefits you enjoy from wetlands in the area. You will get to learn about unique plants and animals that call Niquette Bay home. There is also opportunity to fish from shore where VT State Parks will provide poles, tackle, and instruction. This moderate 1.5 mile (or more if interested) hike is over uneven ground and is suitable for all ages.
The program runs from 1:00-3:00 PM, but participants are welcome to arrive at the park starting at 11 AM for self-directed exploration. Program meet-up is at the trailhead kiosk in the parking lot near the summit 10-15 minutes before 1 PM.
