Cadettes through Ambassadors, get ready to explore the White Mountain National Forest with passionate outdoor educators from the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) who will teach you about the trees, waters, and skies that surround us! Participants will work towards the Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Naturalist badges.
Thanks to generous funding from the AMC's Outdoor Journey Fund, this program is being offered at a steep discount to Girl Scouts!
You will get to partake in Mountain Classroom activities designed to spark curiosity about the outdoors and create comfort with your natural surroundings, including guided hikes and tactical, hand-on explorations of NH's trees and waters, along with some creative exploration of the sky! While no experience is required and beginners are welcome, all participants must meet the AMC's Essential Eligibility Criteria.
Facilitated by our program partner, AMC's A Mountain Classroom. Designed for a total of 2 adult volunteers to serve as chaperones and youth participants that may be affiliated with adult volunteers or may be individual participants that are dropped off for the program. Badge not provided. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy. This program requires a minimum of 6 youth and 2 adults to run, and a maximum of 12 total participants due to White Mountain National Forest (WMNF) limits on group sizes.
Adults must be registered Girl Scouts with a current background check. 2 adults are required to satisfy Safety Activity Checkpoints' ratio requirements. No prior adult outdoor training is necessary to attend this event. All adults attending must comply with all GSGWM's policies and procedures.

You will receive a detailed confirmation including arrival details, required forms, and a packing list via e-mail 1-2 weeks before the date of the program.
Registrations that can be accommodated after the registration close date will be subject to a $5 late fee per person.
