Veterans receive gratitude

Girl Scout Troop 65850 in Salem, NH, spread smiles among the veterans who live at Salem Woods Residence just before Veterans Day.
Leader Samantha said, “The girls started out with a jar and decorated it with American flag stickers of all sorts. They used their cutting skills to cut out gratitude /appreciation labels, each girl signed a card for their jar, added American flag wrapped chocolate candy and lastly added an up cycled American flag from The Honor Bear Project which was gifted to us. It truly means the world to us because of all the time, thought, organizing and dedication we put in. We absolutely love our troop and cannot wait for our next meeting at the local food pantry!”

Collecting needed hygiene products for Silver Award

For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Sophia Caron of Troop 60262 partnered with Share Outreach to support families in Milford, Brookline, Amherst, Mont Vernon, and Wilton. After learning that SNAP benefits cannot be used for non-food essentials, she focused her efforts on increasing donations of personal care items—an area where Share Outreach relies heavily on monetary contributions to fulfill demand.
Sophia raised awareness among Girl Scouts and local organizations, placed collection boxes at the Amherst and Mont Vernon libraries, and organized a donation drive at Shaw’s. Her initiative resulted in the donation of 132 personal hygiene items. As a lasting contribution, she also built a permanent collection box for year-round donations. The box has been placed outside Share Outreach in Milford.
